Superclean Spotlight

Fellow Alamedan Matthew Anderson of Foresight Analytics was just quoted and named in The Economist magazine! That's a pretty big darned deal for a little research house based in Oakland. I especially like the article because I am so short Commercial Real Estate that I can walk under doors. (not investment advice.)

Heated commentary and discussion used to be contained to a handful of hyper-local blogs and "media" sites, all competing for the dish, the scoop, the gotcha... the Crown Cleverest. read more »

Our school PTA is hosting a Silent Auction fundraiser on Friday, March 20th, 2009 from 5-9pm at Lum. We actually have some cool stuff. Today after school (and a brief hail storm), I had to swing by South Shore to deposit a check and we noticed something STRANGE and FOREIGN resting on other people's cars. Certainly nothing the boys had ever seen before, but it conjured up vague memories.... read more »
Alameda Shout Out
Submitted by jack on November 5, 2008 - 3:42pm.Today we find Alameda in the national news regarding the controversial gay marriage ban in California. From USA Today:
Dueling rallies often involved shouting and arrests. Election night was no different in Alameda, across from San Francisco.
Tim Tarasov, 25, stood on the corner of Otis Drive and Park Street hoisting a sign approving the ban in the moments before the polls closed Tuesday. Across the street stood those approving same-sex marriage.
"I have two kids and a beautiful wife at home, and I believe in a marriage that's going to create happiness for the family," said Tarasov, of Sacramento. "Only one man and one woman can make that happen, because the Bible said so." read more »

Henry scares it up with the gals
October was a fully loaded month. Henry turned 5 and he enthusiastically celebrated the 31 days of Halloween: he'd dress up after school, go out in the front yard, and either a) practice scaring people as some sort of skeletal hobgoblin; or b) whiz around as Spiderman. Henry -- no doubt -- has developed a Spidey Sense about what's for dinner (that he doesn't like). read more »
