Gripping noir with plenty of tragedy to go around! Features Marilyn Monroe's first screen appearance (as a minor character). John Huston makes L.A. look very "Detroitish."

The latest from Mike Judge didn't exactly kill at the box office, which only confirms to cultdom. Two slightly dim people from our generation accidently get transported 500 years into the future. Very well-done documentary about a truly amazing car that actually existed by the 100's. Since they could only be leased, they were gathered up and shredded by GM and other carmakers... apparently so that they wouldn't catch on w/ the public.   read more »

I abhor autoslum/nascar culture. I was worried that this Will Ferrell flick wouldn't harsh out enough. Happily, I was wrong. Tastelessness right where it should be. VERY funny.

Inconsistant fluff, but it's hard not to like Anne Hathaway. Her boyfriend in the flick was supremely annoying, so I hate the ending.

A very clever and beautiful period film that delivers on all levels. Watched it w/ a guild screener (nominates for the oscars) and he's giving it full marks. Deservedly so. I take great interest in this topic but not enthralled with the film. The important stuff: it was in Nat'l Geographic. (I'm blessed to have a wonderful wife who has evolved beyond the need for shiny rocks.) This is classic noir. Richard Burton gets tangled up in the mob -- for love. This is one of those films that makes you only want to see black-n-white.
